Anthony Scaramucci Outlines His New Bitcoin Fund, Discloses Initial $25 Million Investment During Interview. The bitcoin fund founded by Anthony’s SkyBridge Capital has invested ~$25 million ahead of a planned opening next year. SkyBridge previously opened the door to potentially investing in investment funds that would “provide exposure to digital assets.“ In response to whether he thought it was too late to invest in bitcoin, Scaramucci said: “For us, I don’t think it’s late. If anything, it’s the first inning. You’re about to see that wave of early adoption by the institutional community. I’d like to get our investors involved before that goes into full throttle.” Read more.
Ethereum Mixer Tornado Cash’s Privacy Pool Value Reaches All-Time High for 2020. Interest in Ethereum privacy mixer Tornado Cash continues to increase, according to data compiled by The Block. Tornado Cash obscures the on-chain tie between sender and recipient and supports ETH, DAI, cDAI and USDC. Just this week, value locked in the pools grew from $16 million to almost $24 million.Tornado Cash announcing they are launching their own governance token TORN might be a possible explanation for the increase in value locked, allowing the mixer “to evolve under the stewardship of its community.” Read more.
Payments Firm Wirex Becomes Visa Principal Member Ahead of Crypto Card Launch. On Tuesday, the London-based cryptocurrency card issuer Wirex announced it has been made a Visa principal member in Europe. This makes Wirex ‘the second ‘crypto-native’ company in the world to become a principal member of Visa’. This promotion comes with a ‘huge range of benefits’ as the company will have permission to issue Visa cards, sell related products and apply for additional licenses. Read more.
A Bitcoin ETF Approval Will Happen Next Year: The Block’s 2021 Outlook Survey Respondents Say. According to the results of the survey, 37.8% of participants agreed and 13.5% strongly agreed that the Securities and Exchange Commission will give their thumbs up to a bitcoin ETF in 2021. This would be a major development. To date, the SEC has shot down various approvals for Bitcoin ETFs, citing the perceived risk of market manipulation and a death of surveillance agreements among marketplaces. Read more.
